Birchbox April 2013

The April Birchbox was all about change. Women's Health magazine put together their favorite products for this box. It's about making those small changes for big results.

The most impressive part of the box was the free subscription to the magazine. That covered the price of the box alone so I was happy with that.

Bath Soap from Lafco, not too excited about soap...

Extra sample from birchbox was an eye roll-on to revitalize and reduce eye puffiness

Face serum from Joanna Vargas that has vitamin A, E and C plus hyaluronic acid.

Mirenesse Glossy Kiss Lipstick, this is being launched exclusively in the birchbox shop (which explains why I've never heard of it?) It looks like a Clinique chubby stick and its a pretty color.

Another Shampoo sample (Kerastase Age Premium Bain Substanif). Again since I normally get my hair done professionally I don't really use these but I do like the Kerastase line and won't mine trying it.

Makeup Class with Merrell Hollis (Wendy Williams Makeup Artist)

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to take a makeup class with Merrell Hollis. He is a celebrity makeup artist and he has been Wendy Williams makeup artist for years. He has started a series of makeup courses and the one I attended was Eye Play. It was great! I learned so many new tips and tricks and found out that he was not only talented but a very nice and humble person. I was not disappointed one bit!

Pictured in People StyleWatch May 2013

My picture was chosen to be in the "You Got It Right" section of People StyleWatch Magazine (May 2013 issue) I was beyond excited when I found out my submission was one of the four picked for their summer trends!! Here is the picture from the article and the original photos!

Flowers and Flowers

The trees around my neighborhood have been blooming and they are so pretty, so here I am with my floral pants to match all these amazing blooms.

The Little Things: Dust Plugs

I am an iPhone addict. I love everything about it, especially accessorizing it! I already have a ridiculously blinged out case (which I can no longer remove since I have these stiletto nails on) but now I am obsessing over dust plugs.

I never knew what they were called until I read a post on gala darling's blog They are little charms for your headphone jack. I don't think you really need to worry about dust getting in there but I guess that was the original idea. But people have of course taken it to the next level. Here are some really cute ones!

Why I'm torn about getting a Celine bag

I think Celine bags are the cutest things when they are new. But when I see the pictures of them after they've been worn for a while they look a mess. I just can't spend that much money on a bag that is going to look like it's melting at some point.

Looking Cute While Working Out

I am always making plans to go the gym and eat right, that is my life struggle (sigh). So with the change in weather and summer on the way I have workout gear on the brain. May as well look cute while you're sweating your life away.

Matchy Matchy

Caution: Unless you are Elle Woods from Legally Blonde please do not wear all of that at once.

Pretty Prints

I love how those water bottles have a filter in them and come in every color imaginable.

Not so basic black

In my mind this is what the girl from the Rachel Zoe Project wears to the gym, the one that's always wearing all black and a sick leather jacket.

Simply Cute

Ok so let's all order some cute clothes and start our new diet... well we can start on Monday because everyone knows that's the only day you can start a diet.

Sightseeing in Washington, D. C.

Since I love to travel I was excited to see the sights in Washington D.C. I had seen most of them when I was younger but I was thrilled to see the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in person!!

1600 Pennsylvania Ave - The White House
Looking for the Pres and first lady!
The Treasury, that should be important to all of us right?
The Lincoln Memorial

Cherry Blossoms, trying to blossom... Mother Nature has all of us confused this year.
The Washington Monument

Korean War Veterans Memorial

Love this quote on the side of his statue
One of my heros!!
I tried it, lol.
