Shopping Trip

I made a quick stop at the mall and found a few things. Claire's was having their 10 for $10 sale so I grabbed a bunch of cute little earrings and a few bracelets.

Of course had to stop at Forever 21, where I found a cute full finger ring and link bracelet. And also a high-low shirt which is a trend I have fallen in love with.

Then at one of those random stores in the mall I finally found the little cross jewelry. I bought two of those, one in gold and one in silver. Oh, and couldn't pass up the camera earrings!

Photo A Day June Challenge

I completed my first photo a day challenge on Instagram and it was so much fun. If  you aren't familiar with the challenge you should really check it out. It was started by a blogger named Chantelle (her blog is Fat Mum Slim). She comes up with a new list each month and you share it however you like; Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. It really gets your creativity flowing and I love looking at random peoples posts too! Here are a few of my favorite photos from the challenge.

Day 20: Fave photo you've ever taken - Mom and I on The Amalfi Coast. Taken with my trusty iPhone.
Day 25: Something cute - My watermelon bowl that I can't bring myself to eat out of.

Saturday Night Church Service

Our church added a new service on Saturday nights so the hubby and I decided to check it out (actually I wanted to check it out and since he wanted to play b-ball on Sunday morning he went along with it).

The service is the same as the two Sunday morning services except the singing is more contemporary. There is a gospel band instead of the normal choir. I really enjoyed it and look forward to going again. I'm not sure it could replace Sunday morning service for me just yet, but maybe one day.

Well I never wear jeans to our normal church service, although our Pastor does, but I felt like it was ok for a Saturday night service, so here's what I wore.

Shirt: Marshall's

Current Obsession: Mid Finger Rings

I have been seeing these rings in the blogosphere for a while now and I think they are so cute. They have a few names: mid-finger rings, phalanx (term refers to the finger bone where the rings sit), mid knuckle rings, etc. This trend was around before and as with all trends they make their way back.

Because of where they sit they are much smaller then your average ring. But if you have a ring that is too small it may just work as your midi ring. Make sure it's tight enough since there's less room for it slip off! Other tips I've found is buying a baby ring or toe ring for the same effect.

They look so cute and dainty. I'm going to find me a few soon... and by soon I mean tomorrow!

Want to order some? I found these cute ones on etsy for $7. Here's the link.

Warming up to Spring

Jeans: The Limited - here, Shoe: Michael Kors - here, Shirt: The Loft, Jewelry: Saks, Forever 21
The weather last week was so beautiful I couldn't even believe it. One day it went up to 84! I felt very much like Spring in this ensemble of bright pink pants and accessories. Since the pants were so bright I went with a neutral shoe and shirt.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips - Turn One Application into Two

I stopped wearing artificial nails years ago because of the damage to my real nails. It's a bit of a hassle because nail polish chips and looks terrible pretty fast. I don't like the gel nails that are so popular now because they damage my nails the same way the artificial nails did.

I do love nail art, and my current obsession are the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips. They are not only super cute, they last forever. I wore mine for over a week with no problems. I think the key is following the directions precisely. Especially cleaning your nails with nail polish remover and buffing them before applying the strips.

The kit comes with everything you need, an orange stick, nail file and 16 nail strips (8 in each pack as shown above).

The kit is only designed for one use but since they give you 16 strips I use two of the strips twice to make it last for two applications. They give you 16 because our nails are all different sizes but I just force the strips to fit my nails somehow even if its not perfect :-)

You can just flip the end around and use it on another nail OR you can paint one finger on each hand a solid color.

As you can see in the picture there's a little space left on the side but it isn't noticeable once you're done.

**Once you open the pack the nail strips dry out. So if you want to stretch it to two applications only open one pack at a time

Here are some other examples from around the web:

Floral Thoughts

My first outfit post! I really love fashion and couldn't help adding some daily style type posts. I took the photos myself using a tripod and it ended up being really fun. Would be a lot easier with someone to photograph me though.
Mixing two trends today, floral and prints with prints. Although two totally different prints, I felt the floral theme was enough to make the items "go." I'm quite satisfied with the result.

I found this purse at Forever 21, it caught my eye immediately and I think it's going to be a great spring/summer bag.

Shirt - LuckyBrand; Jeans - The Loft; Necklace - H&M
Watch - Michael Kors; Bracelets - Forever 21

I am loving Spring so far!

Mary Katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou only launched her label in 2008 but she has quickly become the Queen of prints, she originally caught my eye with her lampshade skirts in the Spring 2011 show:

She was born in Athens and is a graduate of Central St Martins, she uses illusory digital print and gets her inspiration from the art of trompe l'oiel. Here are some of my favorite items.

And here are two of my favorites from her fabulous Fall 2012 show
